On this day, in 1980, two Armenian gunmen storm the Turkish Consulate General in Lyon, France, and demand the location of the consul general. When the Turkish doorman does not answer, the gunmen kill him,  then open fire in the waiting lounge, killing one and wounding 11 visitors. ASALA (Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia) claims responsibility.

TurkishPAC strongly condemns Armenian terrorist activities.
